I don’t like elections

Alright so last week the election results came out. I’m very ticked to say that there is going to be a runoff election. Which means no one won the presidential election so there will be another secondary election to see who wins. So ya that’ll be on November 7th I think. I’m sick and tired of this whole thing haha. I just want to be back to normal where we can go out for normal hours. But I am super glad that this election time has been peaceful. It’s gone smoothly so far so keep praying that all will be well here in Liberia during this time.

Other than that, this week wasn’t the worst. It definitely had its up and downs. The sun is still starting to get hotter. And the sweat is coming more and more.

Tuesday we stayed inside again because of the election. So we had district council again over the phone which was awesome! I love district council, it’s always a highlight of my week. This week we did roleplays which we did with the other missionaries in the different apartments. We did a role play on the Falling Away, or the Great Apostasy. I was definitely guided by the Spirit and I always love feeling its influence while I teach. I was able to make a similarity between the importance and necessity of the Great Apostasy and our own personal apostasty we can have. Ya it was pretty clever I must admit. We were able to teach a lesson over the phone again but no one else wanted to. So we did some more roleplaying together, some other companionship study, and cleaned the apartment. I was also able to have some baller personal study so that was awesome. Gosh I love personal study. It’s one of my favorite parts of the day. Just diving into the scriptures and finding answers to questions and growing my faith and finding amazing doctrine is so epic. I love it.

The rest of the week was slow but good. A lot of people are worried about the election right now so some of them are going out into the bush in case anything happens. And that includes some of our friends haha. So we had a lot of appointments fall through and awesome people we couldn’t meet with. But it’s all good cause we were able to find a few new people to teach. So hopefully they’re minds and hearts are open and ready to hear and accept the message of the restored gospel!

Alright, time for some epic news. I had my first baptism!!! We were able to see Jeffrey and Emanuel become baptized on Saturday. It was such an awesome experience to see. They were both so happy and just beaming with joy when they came out of the water. So awesome to see all our hard work with these boys pay off. They are both super strong. They both just turned 18 and I’m really excited to see if they will serve missions. Super awesome story: so Jeffrey has shared a few times that he would love to serve a mission and to go share the gospel. Which is always a good sign and so awesome to hear. During his confirmation on Sunday, the Elders Quorum president was confirming him. He specifically said in the prayer, I bless you to have a desire to serve a full time mission. Now that is the power and influence of the Spirit! That was such a tender moment and amazing to see. These boys are amazing so keep on praying for them to grow stronger in the gospel and in their faith.

Another awesome thing. Our friend named George has always shown a lot of good progress. But lately he’s been really coming to church, studying his Book of Mormon, and coming converted to Christ. He has been coming to church the past few weeks and even came to our baptism on Saturday! We’ve been really focused on him lately. And this week he has shown an incredible amount of interest in being baptized. Asking questions about how long before he can get baptized, asking what needs to happen, and showing some awesome progress. So we’re planning on inviting him to be baptized sometime this week! So if all goes well, he will agree and we will be able to baptize George and Lincoln on November 11 who are both really strong.

Crazy story of the week! Me and Elder Batila were making pizza last night for dinner. We were just talking, cooking, and jamming to some Tabernacle Choir when all of a sudden, this bat comes swooping out of nowhere and almost hits me in the face. We booked it out of there and got a broom to try and kill it. It was flying around the room going crazy trying to find a way out. We couldn’t hit it or get it out. And of course, my pizza was in the oven. It ended up perching on the cabinet close to the oven. Of course. So Elder Batila gathered up the courage and went and quickly got the pizza out of the oven. Honestly don’t know what happened to the bat. When we went back it was gone. For all we know it could still be in there. The whole time this was happening, all I could think of is the big epic theme music of The Batman movie. So ya that’s my story. Super epic.

Invitation for da week: pray that we will be able to find some new people to teach. We’re going to focus on it a lot this week. And pray that George will accept our invitation. Oh and read your scriptures. Cause they epic.

Overall, it was a pretty good week. Still crazy to me how fast time is flying. Love you all! Oh I almost forgot, Jesus loves you!
