Pray. PRAY. PRAY!!!

Alright so this week has been a grind. The Liberian weather here is so confused. It doesn’t know if it’s supposed to rain or be insanely hot or what. It just needs to decide if it’s rainy or dry season. Anyway the work was a grind this week. We’ve been trying to filter our teaching pool and figure out who is serious and who we need to drop. Cause it’s takes a lot of faith to drop someone. Basically we will spend some time seeing who is keeping commitments and all the fun stuff.

So bad news. We will unfortunately be staying inside all day tomorrow and be on lock down because tomorrow is the official election. The runoff presidential election. This stuff just needs to finish cause I just want to get go work hahaha. So I have a request. If anyone has any baller scriptures, topics, talks, anything at all that they think is epic, send me an email cause I’m gonna be studying a lot tomorrow hahaha.

So with all the election stuff, President Thomas has decided to extend the transfer three week for everyone to stay safe. The missionaries going home will go but everyone else will stay in their areas. And no new missionaries will be coming in. They’ll all come next transfer once all this election bene is done. So we’re gonna have 40 new missionaries coming in. No small thing. So most likely I’ll be training some new missionaries soon 😳

Alright I also have some more bad news. On Tuesday, Elder Batila received a message from his mom that his step father had passed away. We knew he had been sick for a few weeks but it was still very unexpected especially since he was younger and we had heard he was doing better. Elder Batila was a wreck and it was super sad to see him like this because normally he is a super energetic and funny guy. It was very difficult for me because I didn’t really know what to do or say. I gave him a hug and said, “my guy I know what you’re going through. I’ve been there. It’s not fun and it is really hard sometimes. I’m here for you my brother.” what happened next was so awesome. He looked at me and said “my man thank you. You wanna call the people and schedule the day.” I mean are you serious. This man still wanted to go and teach today. I was so proud of him that he wanted to do this. We ended up having many spiritual lessons that day and we taught the plan of salvation I think 4 or 5 times. It was so awesome for us both to share our testimonies of its power and God’s love for all of us. So proud of my trainer and so happy we’re both helping each other and supporting each other. He’s the best!

Alright enough sad news. LINCOLN AND GEORGE WERE BAPTIZED!!! So freaking awesome to see them finally make this covenant and begin their covenant path! Such a super tender moment for me cause we were the first ones to teach these guys and now here we were. So happy for them and excited to keep helping them come closer to Christ. After the baptism service, George came up to me shook my hand and said with tears in his eyes, “Good Man, thank you. You have truly changed my life.” super powerful moment for me to see the impact I’m having on the people here. So freaking awesome and I can’t wait to help others make this same commitment and come closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ!!!

Alright cool story time. I finally received a Kpelle name that I actually remember and now I’m trying to learn Kpelle more haha. Small small make it big. As the Liberians say. But basically people love my name cause they think it’s my first name. Which is epic and I love it haha. They say my name over and over and just laugh to themselves about it and always love to shake my hand. So anyway the Kpelle name they gave me is pronounced “noo lay lay” which literally means “good man”. So whenever I tell people my name and then my Kpelle name they find it hilarious and just love it. So I’m trying to learn more Kpelle small small. But it’s definitely a grind hahaha.

Alright so invitation time!

Pray

PRAY

PRAY!!!!

Pray for Elder Batila during this time. Pray for the people we are teaching to feel Christ’s love. Pray for peace during this crazy and scary election time. Pray for your own conversion. Pray for missionaries around the world. JUST PRAY!!! There’s a youth album song lyric that I like it says “though you’ve been waiting for a long time, he’s been watching you your whole life. And you will hear from Him soon. He is listening to you.” so go pray. He is listening. Have faith and trust in Him.

Even though this week has been a grind, I’m loving it. Absolutely loving it. Nowhere I’d rather be right now. Maybe taco bell would be nice right now but I got plenty old mas making me soup and rice. So I’ve got that covered. Anyways love you all! Send me something for me to read tomorrow hahaha!!!
