Alright not much to say this week haha. Just doing my best to strengthen the area but it’s definitely so hard sometimes. We have a lot of people that aren’t keeping commitments so we’re gonna have to drop them soon. Which means more finding. Yessir that’s missionary work! Yes the ward and area is struggling… But I’ve found thats the reason I’m here! To help strengthen these people and bring more into the fold. So I’m excited for this week cause we’re gonna be doing some finding and pretty much just filtering the serious people. Always hard to drop people, but you gotta have faith that one day they’ll realize how amazing the gospel is and want to come closer to Jesus Christ. Anyways let’s get started on the big updates.
First things first. I didn’t get my trainee this week. Unfortunately. The whole transfer has been so crazy cause of the election. So basically I was supposed to get my greenie on Wednesday. But they didn’t come. So I was in a trio with the ZLs for two days. One day when we were in the area, I get a call from the APs saying that they had a new companion for me. I was like what. Yall didn’t tell me this hahaha. So we rushed back to the apartment and I got my new companion. Elder Mouandza is a stud. He’s been on the mission for almost one year and has been in the bush for the last 6 months. Man knows how to do some finding so I’m stoked to learn from him. He’s so chill and we click really well. He’s from Congo and also knows how to cook so that’s gonna be a lifesaver. Cause sheesh I’m still trying to learn how to cook haha. Small small. Anyways, basically I’ll get my newbie in 3 weeks. Hopefully. I don’t know anymore haha and neither does anyone. Only the Lord. So just gotta trust him that everything will work out. But I’m still so stoked to train!
I realized the other day that if I train in this area, I’ll be in this area for 5 transfers 😳. Which is like over 7 months. Crazy. So I could be in Brewerville for a looooong time haha. But it’s ight cause I love it here and there’s lot of work to be done which will keep my busy.
Almost ate some monkey the other day haha. Not joking. We were eating some cobo when we found this big thing of meat that didn’t exactly look the most appetizing. So we asked the oma what it was and she happily said “bush meat!” with a big old smile on her face. We said which meat. And she said “monkey. I have some leftover deer meat if you want some.” I was like bruh for real?! Definitely not going to that cobo shop again haha I don’t want to end up with worms in my stomach.
Clutch moment of the week. Elder Pelo showed me where to find the most bussing ice cream. They sell them in these little sachets of ice cream and they’re not too expensive. It’s not like top of the line stuff but it’s still soooo good. Felt so nice to eat strawberry ice cream again haha. Might end up using too much money there though so this could be dangerous. Pray for my self control.
Found the most cursed picture of a kid on the wall of a school. Me and Elder Pelo were crying from laughter on how ugly this thing was. It was straight up from an Egyptian relic or something I don’t even know. It was wild haha I’ll post a pic.
Basically this week was a grind like always. But we’re definitely finding some great things in the area. We have a lot of solid people that are awesome so I’m always excited to keep on going. Love the people. Love the food (mostly). Love the area. Love Liberia. I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. This is flying by so fetching fast it’s unreal! Hope yall are taking time to remember our Savior during this Christmas season. Make sure to study about his birth and his life, and to LIGHT THE WORLD! Better be seeing some awesome pics and emails from everyone on how you helped to light the world. And someone give me an update on the suns. Someone told me they doing buns.
Don’t forget too. It’s my mom’s birthday tomorrow!!! Send her something. She deserves it. She raised this hooligan so obviously she needs something amazing.
Keep on sending it. Keep on grinding. Keep the scripture study going. Keep on doing the small and simple things. Cause they work. As the Liberian say, small small make it big-o!
Send me emails and pics nerds.
JESUS LOVES YOU BAWAY!!!
Elder Good Man
