Alright so this week was epic. Just gotta say it. I’m just gonna do the good ol day by day.
Tuesday – okay not gonna lie. Today was rough hahaha. We started off woth district council which I always love cause I always feel the Spirit so strongly. Then we went into the area. Yikes it was hard. We were supposed to have 5 lessons which were all planned. Sike. We taught one. 😐. Bruh. The people that said we could come just left when we got there so we were left standing there like “what. What the bum bro.” so ya after our first 4 lessons fell through I decided it was time for some good ol classic finding. At this time, I was being so pessimistic so it was hard. We found a few people that seemed interested but we haven’t been able to get into contact with them haha. So ya. It was a tough day. But that’s missionary work. The night was cool though cause one of the APs was in our apartment on exchange so we gotta talk for while and had some fun together.
Wednesday – W day for real. It was zone conference!!! It blows my mind that ZC is always on the day that I need them. Right after a tough week or a tough day. And it’s always exactly what I need to hear! Now that’s revelation, nerds. So ya ZC was epic cause we learned a lot about the importance of the BOM in our work, and the power of relying on the Spirit. It’s impossible to teach without the Spirit. I’ve been there. It’s not fun. But the times that it’s strong… Oh ya baby it’s the best! So ya ZC was awesome especially cause we got Monroe Chicken for lunch! It’s basically the closest thing in Liberia to real fast food. Just a good ol chicken sandwich. And then after we got to go get ice cream across the street! Always a w trip when we go into town.
Thursday – when I’m on a spiritual high… Boy oh boy I’m dangerous. We had some amazing lessons today and everything went smoothly! Met a few new people and I’m not gonna lie, I was cooking in the lessons. Honestly I really enjoy teaching the lessons all by myself. It’s so crazy how the Spirit helps me so much when I teach. But honestly it will be nice when Elder Esakalonga can start teaching hahaha. We ended the day with a loooooong walk home cause we were super far away from the apartment. But it’s chill cause it was such a beautiful walk.
Friday – another w day with a few more new people and old people. Definitely another spiritual day for sure. And we ended it again with a ridiculous long walk back home hahaha.
Saturday – well the morning was crazy. We got a call from my boys Elder Okongywu and Elder Karren that they needed some assistance with their baptism. So we booked it over there. We spent a few hours filling buckets on tap and pouring them into the font. Gotta love LIB haha. Honestly it would’ve just been cooler to have done it in the river but oh well. We also found out that the drain was leaking so I had to go and clog it with a rock and a plastic bag. It was sick. But ya the baptism was awesome as always. Baptisms are always so awesome for me to see cause it shows me that the Lord truly is helping us as we continue to work.
Sunday – as some of you may know, our area has been struggling for a long time. Like a long time haha. But that just means I gotta work my booty bum off and do something about it. So Sunday came…. And we actually got quite a few people to come which was awesome! We saw a few recent inactives come back to so that was awesome to see! Got a few lessons and FMs in for the day and then did the usual W weekly planning.
Monday – cleaned a lot today cause this place is a wreck. Did the usual washing which always takes a few hours. Got food. Called home. Gosh I hate Liberian network hahaha. Went and taught a few lessons. Put a kid on date. W Pday.
Overall, it’s been a vibe. I’ve really been trying to set the example of exact obedience for my trainee and boy oh boy it’s paying off! Even doing something so simple like exercising every morning brings blessings! Which leads me to a spiritual thought: the small and simple things matter. Even a 5 minute study in the BOM at the beginning of the day will make your day go by soooooo much better. It’s true. I’ve seen it all my life. So do it.
Invitation time: read your BOM nerds. It helps. Study Come Follow Me. It’s a game changer. Pray for people. The power of prayer is real.
Also, I’m giving a talk on Sunday and I chose to talk about the Atonement. Shocker I know haha but it’s my favorite thing to teach sooo ya. If anyone has any talks or scriptures send them this way please!
Other than that, just still chilling in Brewerville! Crazy I’m gonna be here til March. But keep doing the good things my brethren.
Jesus loves you baway!
