What’s up everyone! This week was so awesome and went by so quick it was unreal. I’ll just get right into it cause it was a lot and I don’t have plenty time. Speaking of time, today makes another milestone for the mission. Today makes me 8 months on my mission! It’s actually insane where time is going but I’m loving every second of itm
First things first, on Tuesday we had to travel in town because we had MLC (mission leadership Council) on Wednesday. From Buchanan to monrovia is about a 3-4 hour drive so ya it can take awhile. So let me explain what travel is like in a Liberian taxi. Imagine one of those small taxi cars you see in the movie. Okay now you cram 3 people in the trunk, 4 people in the back row and 2 in the passenger seat. Now add no AC and a big old lady next to you that spills her soft drink all over you. And then you do that for 4 hours on a hot and dusty dirt road. Let me tell you… I was literally just smiling the whole time 😂. For me I just love thinking about how awesome my mission experience is. Where else in the world can I find all this stuff? Just in thst ride just looking out the window and seeing all the beautiful forest and bush of Liberia. Gosh you just gotta love it.
So ya we gotta stay the night in the office elders apartment. Holy they’re enjoying ooo. The next morning we called Monroe Chicken and ordered their chicken waffle for breakfast. Goodness me it was so delicious hahaha. Haven’t had something like thst in awhile so ya I was enjoying one might say.
Wednesday we had MLC. Not gonna lie I was stressing baway before it cause I had no clue what it would be like. But holy it was just such a neat experience to be sitting at that table with President and Sister Thomas and all the other young missionary leaders of the mission just discussing what we can do to help our mission. The spirit was so strong the whole time and I learned so many awesome things. And let me tell you… I’ve got some work to do for myself hahaha. But hey I’ve got time and I’m stoked to get after it.
During MLC we had some bussing Chinese food and gosh it was so good. After the meeting I had my interview with President Thomas and we discussed some awesome things and gospel stuff. I’m so thankful for my mission president and what he’s helped me through and the things I’ve learned from him!
Wednesday evening we were able to have the APs take us all the way back to Buchanan which was so nice. I got to relax with AC and take a little power nap and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Liberia. Again I just gotta say it. Liberia is the best mission in the world. Period haha. This place is literally just so beautiful and I love it here so much.
Thursday we had an super exchange with the APs and our District Leader. So me, Elder Mcopela, and Elder Cathey went marching through Buchanan teaching and preaching the restored gospel. I learned so much from Elder Mcopela and we had a great time together. Let me just share a quick powerful testimony of PMG. Preach My Gospel is pure revelation from our Heavenly Father to us. It’s thst simple. I love it so much!
Friday and Saturday me and Elder Mfumundende were able to finally be back in our area haha. We tried to end our week strong and we had some awesome lessons with some of our people. We’re really trying to be active ZLs and example for our zone and I’ve already seen so many blessings come from it. Obedience truly does bring blessings. Just go look at D&C 130:20-21. It’s simple really.
Alright time for the highlight of the week. Easter Sunday! Wow what a special experience to have an Easter as a missionary. Our whole week we were testifying of Jesus Christ’s Atonement and Resurrection and then for us to have that day and see so many people come to church, miracles are real. Of that I’m sure. I gave a talk in our sacrament meeting about the Atonement. For those of you who don’t know, I. Love. The. Atonement. I’ve given I think 5 or 6 talks ever since by farewell talk on the Atonement and it’s amazing to see how much I’ve learned about it and how my testimony of it has grown. It’s unreal. In all honesty, I can’t really put into words how I feel about my Saviors Atonement. And even if I could, I wouldn’t be able to summarize it in a small email hahaha. But I would like to share two scriptures in the BOM thst I have been sharing with others this past week. They’re some of my favorites about His Atonement.
– Mosiah 3:5-12
– Mosiah 16:6-9
My invitation this week is to read these scriptures. Ponder them. And pray about them and how they help your testimony.
Honestly as a missionary I can’t do to much without others acting on what I say. So I beg you. Please act on this invitation. The Spirit does the teaching. I just give you the invitation 🙃
So for Easter Sunday, the senior couple in Buchanan invited us over for dinner!!! The Montoyas are literally the best ever. They made us mashed potatoes with gravy(my favorite) , homemade rolls, mixed veggies, some sweet potatoes, carrot cake. Okay and here’s the best part. A filet mignon! Holy buns I haven’t tasted real authentic homemade American food and so long. And boy oh boy it was absolutely amazing. Honestly. No words to describe it haha. But ya I’m enjoying over here in Buchanan.
Anyways if you’ve made it this far you’re awesome. I’m so grateful for my Savior and His Resurrection!
Also General Conference is coming!!! Prepare please. Make questions. Study past talks. I know thst as we prepare ourselves for conference is where we receive the most knowledge and blessings and guidance. It’s simple really.
Love ya all and I’m so grateful for all of your support. Just know thst I love the emails I get every week! I read them all but sometimes I have trouble responding to them haha. Keep grinding and reading your scriptures!
Jesus loves you baway
