Whats up everyone we back oooo!
Alright let me just start with a story so I can explain the title haha. Anyway we pull up to church yesterday just expecting a normal service. A bunch of new people came so we were talking to a lot of them after service and just trying to study small with them to learn more about them and Schedule a time to come teach them. We get to this one guy who looked a little odd haha. This dude had dreads down to like his waist and just a pretty tattered shirt and some slippers. So we just wanted to sit down and talk with him to learn more about him and just share a small message. We sit down and start asking if he’s ever studied with the missionaries before or if he’s been baptized or what not. That’s when it got wild… This zogo dude thought we were trying to arrest him! He started telling us all these things like “Just take me to court if you want to arrest me. I’ll sue you and I’ll win. I know plenty good lawyers. I’m a pastor from the Methodist church and I don’t want to fight you!” Like holy cow it was crazy. We let him kind of yell at us for a little and all the members were like what the heck is going on haha. So he finally started to calm down so I took that chance to have him read a scripture for us. It was on baptism and so after I asked him. My man all were asking is if you’ve been baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ. He was kinda confused so we just closed with a prayer before it got wild again. Anyway he walked outta the church right after and we don’t know where he went. So ya that was a story for sure!
This week was so awesome! I’ll get right into the highlights:
– we had 2 exchanges this week with some elders in our zone. Gotta go enjoy life inside Cotton tree and Harbel which are some sweet areas. I gotta be with two of my boys Elder McKee and Elder Thompson. I was able to share a few things with them and learned a few things too. We really just had a super fun time together and found some awesome new people! Shout out to Elder Karren cause my man you suffered in the Dolos town apartment 😂
– we walked with one of our branch missionaries Chris Johnson. That was my first time to walk with him. He stayed pretty quiet in the lessons for like the whole day. But then our last lesson, the girl was not really having it. She didn’t really want to listen and was asking some questions that we as missionaries couldn’t really answer. So that’s when my boy Chris clutched up and just shared a super powerful testimony and some thoughts. The Spirit was so strong. After, the girl was like oh okay it all makes sense now! So that was legendary.
– still trying to learn some Bassa but holy cow it is so hard haha. But the ol mas love it so I’m gonna keep trying small small
– because of our exchanges we were out of our area for like two full days which can be pretty hard sowmtimes. But we still ended up having a lot of lessons and saw so many people at church on Sunday. Miracles! The coolest part was when one member said to us “elders I see so many new people here today. You guys are working hard!” so that was sweet.
– made Indian fry bread for dinner on July 4th. So bussing. And we made some banana bread so that was sweet.
Honestly just still living the life out here. Learning so much and enjoying it oooo. Can’t believe it’s already July. Shout out to all my fam at Lake Powell. Yall enjoying for real.
Love ya all and send pics and emails. Peace.
Jesus loves you.
Elder Good Man
