Exchanges and Transfers

What’s up everyone we back at it again!

This week was actually insane, flew by again, and a lot of sweet experiences. Like the title says, there were two crazy things that happened that I can’t complain about either 😂.

Highlights:

– alright first things first. Post Malone accepted a Book of Mormon!!! Shout out to Sister Perkins for sending me that picture cause that was the coolest thing haha. That just proves that this work is progressing and the truth is being spread all about. So ya I was pretty hyped about that cause Posty is a pretty big legend and it’s good for people to see that they shouldn’t be afraid of the Book of Mormon. Like you would be surprised what some people say about it here in Liberia. All my LIB boys know exactly what in talking about 😂

– had another exchange where we went to the LAC area. LAC is about a 2 hour motorbike ride through the middle of the bush of Liberia. That bike ride was soooooo epic. It’s just another one of those moments where it’s like, “this is the coolest thing ever. I’m just out here in the bush just teaching people the gospel and stuff.” The drive was beautiful. Just green everywhere. It’s sweet too cause these random villages just pop up on the side of the road and they just out there living. So ya that was fun. I went out with Elder Worthington into their area and we had a really good time. I was able to help him out with a few things and he taught me some good things about contacting other people. It was epic. Had a good time.

– unfortunately, with the good there is always bad. When we were in LAC, I didn’t have a mosquito net. Or a fan. So I got absolutely WRECKED by mosquitos. I’m saying like 15ish bites on my neck a bunch more on my arms and hands too. It was very unfortunate. The worst one was when I get bit right on the lip and so my lip was all swollen when I woke up. Reminded me of a story my dad always told me about his own mission. So ya I definitely popped a few more malaria pills so pray I don’t get sick or anything 😂.

– had another crazy experience with a druggie. We were teaching one of our recent converts when this dude popped into the house and said he wanted to study. So we thought nothing of it and let him join. However, the Spirit prompted both me and my companion that there was something off about this dude. The Spirit was telling me I knew this dude from somewhere and I was just trying to see who it was. I knew his face but didn’t really remember. And then he asked this one interesting question and that’s when everything clicked. Back a few transfers ago, me and Elder Mfumundende ran into this one guy who had this crazy belief of the “Doctrine of Holiness.” Basically he’s part of this religious group known as Spirit Men. I can’t even describe some of the absurd things they believe. Anyway the man was just trying to blast us with some crazy things. Our recent convert got vexed and kicked him out of the house cause he was just going on and on and on about stupid things. Thats when our member told us these guys just take drugs like all day and believe they won’t be punished for them. Anyway that’s my goofy story for the week haha.

– we received transfer news again!!! Crazy stuff happening again but more on that next week 😳. But anyway for the time being I’ll be staying another transfer in Buchanan! So ya that’ll put me at over one year of my mission in two areas. But im stoked to stay with Elder Sumaila in Buchanan. We do great together and I’ve still got a bunch of things I want to help this branch and area with. Also Elder Sokiziou will be joining us for the transfer so we will be in a trio for the next month or so 💪.

– also pray for my sister Emery, she’s got some nasty infection from her trip to Paraguay so pray it goes away 🙏

My spiritual thought for the week comes from Jacob 4:11-12. I love these scriptures for one thing it says specifically in verse 12. “For why not speak of the Atonement of Christ?” And it’s so true. Teaching the Atonement is one of my favorite principles to teach cause people really don’t understand it and why it’s so important. So it’s pretty simple. Share about the Atonement!!!

Anyway that’s all for this week folks. Some goofy things are happening next week so stay in the for that. Love ya all and keep send me pics and emails and all that fun stuff. Also shout out again to my boys that are headed out soon. Love ya all!!!

Jesus loves you baway!!!

Elder Good Man
