Another transfer gone

What up gang! We’re back at it again with another weekly. It’s crazy how fast these keep coming and just how every week is closer to the end. Not too sure how I feel about it but just gotta be focused for now.

This week was one of the most frustrating and tiring weeks since the beginning of my mission. We had transfers this week which is always fun… only if everything goes the way it’s planned to. And it didn’t. So it was an adventure the whole week!

Monday we started up transfers sooooon in the morning time. We got to see a lot of cool new places of the bush as we took a bunch of back roads through small towns and rubber plantations. We ended a little later in the afternoon and got to go have a final meeting with the departing missionaries. We played some fun games and had some good food and bore some powerful testimonies. It was pretty cool to see these elders have these burning testimonies and not too sure if they really wanted to go home or not. It was a powerful and spiritual meeting.

Tuesday we started up transfers again in the morning. We had to pick up all the elders that are going to the Southeast. For those of you who don’t know, the Southeast is a zone in our mission where elders are just chunked out there and are alone basically for months. It’s just them, the bush, and the gospel. It’s legendary and I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish my mission out there. Anyway to get out there they have to get into these trucks jam packed with all the supplies to go there, and then drive for days just to go like 200 miles or so. The roads are that bad. It’s crazy. So we had to pick them all up and get them suited up for their week long travel. Fun times! We even got to go teach for a few hours after. Bonus. We then spent the evening driving the departing missionaries to the airport. That was a fun drive. We were all just talking about Liberia and what it’s like and what we’ve all learned. We dropped them off but then had some devastating news. They wouldn’t let one of the elders into the airport until 9 pm. Bruh. So we had to wait a couple of hours before he got in. And then started our long drive back. We finally got home a wee bit late haha. I won’t say what time 😐

Wednesday we got to teach for most of the day. We even had a member from Buchanan with us for the day! Sekeh Morris was one of the branch missionaries when I was back in Buchanan, he was leaving on his own mission on Thursday so we got to walk with him one more time haha. It was a fun time just talking about all the times in Buchanan. That evening we went to go pick up all the new incoming missionaries from the airport. That’s always a fun one cause they always are so excited/stressed/tired and ask a bunch of good questions!

Thursday was a long day to say the least haha. I woke up feeling kind of gross but that’s Liberia. We went to the orientation for the new missionaries. Had donuts and Monroe Chicken so that’s epic. Then we spent the rest of the day driving. We had to go all the way out to this place called Tubmanburg to drop off the new missionaries to their areas. We ended up getting back at 9ish. This whole time I was feeling like junk and let’s just say I was not a happy or patient Elder during that time haha. But anyway we got back, I made some tacos for my Thanksgiving, called my fam and said grateful for yall, then went to bed.

Friday was another long day in the office trying to get prepared for this next week. We’ve got a mission tour with our area president and it’s going to be awesome! Excited for it. And now today. Went and taught for a few hours and now we back. Still feeling like buns but we’ll manage. Probably take a nap 🤤.

This week in my personal study I was reading again in the BOM. Alma 15:16 kind of caught my attention and got me thinking. It talks about how Amulek forsake everything he had and left in in his home, all for the word of God. He was rejected by all his friends and family, even his own father. Now that takes some guts. But what I loved is that word “forsake”. Which means to put behind us and not even look back at it or regret it ever again. For me, I’ve always been blessed growing up. I had a amazing family, childhood, friends, and a lot of temporal things as well that I took for granted. But now I’m trying to be like Amulek. Yes, I am beyond grateful for what I’ve been blessed with. But where much is given, much is required. I’m trying to put all those things away for now, solely for the word of God. Dedicated to teaching this gospel to His children. That’s why I love being a missionary. And this is beyond important to me.

Anyways sorry for the essay everyone 😂. But sometimes its just gotta happen. This next week is going to be interesting and hecka busy to say the least haha. But we always survive it. Hit me up with the updates on life and especially the Suns. Love ya all. Keep grinding.

Jesus loves you baway
