What’s up gang! Another one.
This week was super quick and busy, but I don’t feel like a lot of stuff happened. But here’s some highlights.
– In December, we had the opportunity to baptize a family and some few others. So on Sunday our branch did something awesome in our sacrament meeting! One of the daughters gave the opening prayer, the dad gave a talk, and another one of the converts gave a closing prayer. It was so sweet to see these people really just trying their best, despite being new to the gospel, and letting the Spirit so the rest. It was big epic!
– we had a few more zone conferences so thats always good news. Had some really powerful meetings and I’ve been learning a lot from my mission leaders as well as the zone leaders that have been giving instruction.
– we went on a couple exchanges this week and I met some really awesome people. Investigators, members, and new people and all! Its always a fun time being in other areas and meeting new people and seeing new things.
– I have money again! We got subsistence today so at least. I’m not dying anymore.
– we had this cool lesson today with one of our progressing friends. His brother joined the lesson just to hear our message. My companion gave a sweet teaching about Joseph Smith and the power of prayer. The Spirit was so strong and we even asked the both of them to be baptized. They both agreed! So now we’re excited to see how they progress here.
Something I enjoyed learning about this week and trying to improve on was the power and simplicity of prayer. I absolutely love this quote from President Holland. “My beloved friends, our prayers are our sweetest hour, our most “sincere desire,” our simplest, purest form of worship.”
I’ve loved using this in my own life as well as with those I meet and teach. I try to help people understand the importance of prayer because a lot of the people here dont quite get it. They think it’s just shouting and saying the same things over and over again. It’s really sad actually. So I’ve been trying to help them see why it is such a sacred and sweet experience to pray with our Father in Heaven. And I’ve also been trying to improve my own prayers. So ya there’s that.
Anyways I think thats it for today. Oh I almost forgot, I hit 18 months on my mission 😊😐🤮. So ya I got 6 months left. Ready to give it all I got wherever I am.
Hope yall are doing good and enjoying life. Peace yall.
Jesus loves you baway
