Yo what’s up y’all! I hope you all of had just a fabulous and amazing week wherever you are. And of course a very merry and happy Valentines day to all the lovers out there.
I can’t lie. This week has been a grind and a lot of work. But we can’t complain. We have officially received a new companion, Elder Duncan, who we have been training for the office. He will be the new AP which means I’m on my way back out to the field! Because transfer news hasn’t come out yet tho I can’t say where I am going haha but let’s just say I’m super stoked for my new assignment. It’s gonna be stressful, hard, but a lot of fun.
We spent two full days this week with President Thomas trying to plan the transfer with him. It was a tricky one this time around just with a lot of unexpected things happening but we got it done. But that just means the real work begins. We spent most of the rest of the week planning it on our own. Trying to figure out how to get everyone there and get ready for the transfer. Again, a lot of unexpected things happened but that’s just how it can be looking sometimes.
I got to go on an exchange with Elder Cathey into my last area, Congotown 1. It’s a cool area and it felt strange to be back. But Elder Cathey and I served around each other in Buchanan so it was epic to go teach together again. Caught up on old times and had some spiritual talks about the mission and life and how far we’ve come from the beginning. Good times.
You know, there’s something goofy about trios 😂. We’ve been in a trio all week and it has been one of the funnest weeks of my mission. Because we all know when to work hard and be serious, but also when we can mess around. So we’ve been enjoying together and having a good time!
This week we had some few normal morning where I was able to sit down and have a long personal study. I was reading the chapters in Alma where he is giving counsel to his sons. It was really neat to see and feel the love that Alma, as a father, had for his sons. Whether they were amazing missionaries, or had made mistakes and needed to repent, he had the same love for each of them and wanted them to improve. Obviously, that’s how our Father in heaven feels about us. And that’s why we are always trying to improve. But I also thought about how grateful I am for my own parents. Sure they’ve had to give me correction, counsel, and sometimes praise. But I never felt like they were angry with me. It was always loving and charitable and I’m so grateful for them and the person they’ve helped me become.
But ya I think that’s it for now! I’ve had a lot of fun memories and good times here in the office. But I’m also so dang excited to get back into the field and get to work these last few months.
Just remember that God and Jesus Christ love you and all will be well.
